Week 85: The Book of Mormon
These past couple of weeks have been really fun and filled with miracles, even when it was a little harder with Khmer New Year and general conference and everything going on.
Two weeks ago, Elder Gooch and I did an exchange and met this woman while contacting. We talked to her and she told us she had a blind daughter who believed in Jesus Christ before. She wasn't there at the time so we told the ming (lady) we would go back the next week to try and meet her again.
This past week Elder Legarto and I felt prompted to try and meet her again. I called her but she didn't answer. I thought maybe it was too far or too late to go because it was over the bridge, but we felt like we should go anyway. When we got there the ming wasn't there, but her blind daughter was. And it was such a huge miracle because she usually doesn't get home until late at night. She explained to us that she still believes but hasn't gone to a church in a long time and it's hard for her to learn because she is blind. Elder Legarto and I had the opportunity to share about the gospel with her and we also helped her download the Book of Mormon app so she could listen to the Book of Mormon on her phone. After we left, we stopped and Elder Legarto and I prayed to Heavenly Father and thanked him for that day and all the many blessings and miracles we saw. As I was saying the prayer I was overwhelmed with the Spirit and love. I was so grateful for everything.
Our zone is really focusing on the Book of Mormon right now and it has strengthened my testimony of the power it holds, the blessings we can receive from it, and how it can change everyone's lives for the better. I know it's true.
Love,
Elder Mendenhall
