Week 75: Be Prepared

Feb 12, 2024

Cons of having sacrament meeting in your house:

Someone used my razor at church yesterday. (I wanted to die when Elder Job told me.)

Like boy scouts "Be Prepared."
Unfortunately, I was not prepared and didn't consider the fact that someone might stumble upon my razor and use it.

I could've prevented this if I just got my Eagle Scout four years ago. Sorry Dad. Always listen to your parents.

Pros:

Other than that, having sacrament in our house is super special :)
Even though it's stressful sometimes, I love it so much and am so thankful for the opportunity to partake of the sacrament with the members in Kambol.

Bong Ngan was confirmed on Sunday and received the gift of the Holy Ghost! So happy for her and I hope she will start recognizing the guidance of the Holy Spirit in her life.

This week we've been sharing a lot from the "Come Follow Me" lessons and shared a lot about Lehi's vision of the Tree of Life. One of my favorite verses about Lehi's vision is in 1 Nephi 8:12 which says,

"And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit."

Lately I have started to notice how much "exceedingly great joy" the gospel truly brings me in my life. I've always noticed it, but it has been a lot more abundant and meaningful to me recently. As we've been teaching this week, I just thought about how amazing it is that Christ makes the "fruit" (His love) available to everyone to partake of it. It is such a blessing to share that love with the people of Cambodia.

I love you all. Send me some updates about your life. Miss y'all.

Love,
Elder Mendenhall
