Week 70: Why Not?
This week Pu Lorn, Ming Heap, and their daughter Elita got baptized! They are the first people baptized since the church has opened in Kambol. It has been so amazing to be a part of their journey and watch them grow so much in all aspects of their lives. They are some of the most prepared people I have met on my mission and truly want to receive the fulness of the gospel in their lives. I love them.
I got to do an exchange with my homie Elder Traveller this week and it was so fun. He was in my MTC district and we have never been in the same zone our whole mission until now. He's one of the funniest people I know. Just his laugh makes me die laughing.
Anyway, he interviewed Pu Lorn and his family for baptism and when he asked Pu Lorn if he could follow the commandments forever Pu Lorn said, in English, "Why not?" So funny.
Also got to do an exchange in Teuk Thla with Elder Chen this week which was also super fun. Got to see all my homies in North Stake that I met when I first started my mission. I love them and miss them.
My beast companion Elder Johnson has left Kambol sadly. He helped this area so much and it definitely wouldn't be where it is now without him.
My new companion is Elder Job and I'm so excited to serve with him! We lived together in Battambang when he first came to the mission, and we've always talked about being comps. Now here we are. He is such a beast and I know he's going to help me and the people in Kambol so much.
We have seen so many miracles and blessings this week and I know the Lord is preparing so much for His people. Please pray for Kambol!
Love,
Elder Mendenhall
